Description
It is the mission of Raise the Roof for the arts to renovate and operate the Historic Sidney Theatre for the cultural, artistic and educational purposes for the benefit of the Shelby County community. Raise the Roof for the Arts plans to provide a beautifully renovated venue for performing arts, entertainment, cultural and educational events, and other community events to serve the Shelby County community and region.
Background
Raise the Roof for the Arts is a group of Shelby County citizens who, along with local arts organizations, see an opportunity to enhance the quality of life in our community. RTR owns and operates the Historic Sidney Theatre and is a 501(c)3 charitable non-profit. The RTR Board of Directors includes 16 community volunteers and leaders looking to serve the mission to renovate and operate the Historic Sidney Theatre for cultural, artistic and educational purposes for the benefit of the Shelby County community. RTR plans to provide provide a beautifully renovated venue for performing arts, entertainment, cultural and educational events, and other community events to serve the Shelby County community and region. The Historic Sidney Theatre currently serves local performing groups, Sidney Dance Company and Sock & Buskin Community Theatre. Post-renovation, RTR leadership envisions that a variety of events for all ages will be a part of its programming. These events will include live theatre, dance, bands, concerts, private rentals, lecture series, movies, etc.
