Cooper, Lindsay

Botkins, OH 45396
I am an artist who really enjoys zooming in on people during their everyday lives. I seem to focus on the little things when I paint. The slight turn of a head, a shadow that drapes over a face. These subtle things can all work together to make somethings quite stunning if composed just right. I paint portraits mostly, but do like to paint animals and landscapes from time to time as well.
Cupp, Nancy

Findlay, OH 45840
I use a variety of mediums, mostly in acrylics, colored pencil, or watercolor. I enjoy landscape, close up details of ordinary objects, flowers, portraits, animal portraits, usually in a realistic style or some abstraction, depending on what I'm trying to say in my work. I also do children's book illustrations.

I am inspried to bring beauty into other's lives, while expressing my own inner gleenings. I wish to lift others into another state of mind, to experience that which is apart from the dreary mundane. Art, when in it's truest form, will touch emotions, will inspire dreams. I have a brief art education, but my greatest experience is with life itself...the ups and the downs...the ebbs and flows. My art is music - dancing on the end of the colors on my paintbrush.

I paint in oil and watercolor. Most of my work falls under portraiture (animal & human) and still life work; however, I do not limit myself to these 2 genres. Most of my work is realisitic and inspired by my own life; however, I sometimes work abstract and love to paint commisions inspired by others' lives.

I am told I have a quirky sense of humor and many times that shows in my paintings. I use black as my drawing color and it has been dominate in my work, however, I am currently moving in a little different direction. My subject matter ranges from bellies to baubles, and everything in between.

I have been an artist all my life but have never been able to settle into any one medium. I love it all and accept a new medium as an enjoyable challenge. Most of my current work is done in acrylic or watercolor, and enjoy painting from my own photographs. I am a realist, but also draw with a passion and sometimes develop cartoon-style characters to use as cute, decorative designs for pins and ornaments, etc. I believe that drawing is the basis for good art and I encourage all aspiring artists and experienced ones, as well, to carry a (more)

I majored in painting in college, and minored in art history. My historical place in the art world is something I'm very conscious of and I draw much of my style from the Byzantine period. My faith has always been my source of inspiration both as a person and as an artist. As an Orthodox Christian, I strive to combine my knowledge as a western oil painter with the theology and artistic design of the ancient Byzantine Orthodox Church. Most of my artwork is made with oils and gold leaf on either a panel or canvas. Much of the imagery (more)

I am a face and body painter. I use non-toxic, hypo-allergenic, water based paints to make creative faces on children. I have a wide variety of choices ranging from butterflies to spiderman to Ohio State. All of the paints and glitters that I use are completely safe for the skin. My glitter is metal-free, and my paints are hypo-allergenic and made for face painting specifically. The paints come off easily with soap and water or babywipes. I am a student at Wright State University Lake Campus majoring in business.

The Midwest Paint Group is an association of American painters formed in 2001 and dedicated to an aesthetic movement in contemporary art known as Post-Abstract Figuration. This movement is characterized by the endeavor to paint perceived experience through the lens of 20th century abstraction, and tempered by the understanding of pictorial devices of early and recent masters. The Group consists of 12 painters: Bob Brock from the Kansas City area; Michael Neary and Amy MacLennan in St. Louis; Tina Engels, Lynette Lombard, Timothy King, and (more)

Whether painting in watercolor or collage, all the works begin by pouring paint across the surface! “Pouring paint is methodical, yet mindlessly therapeutic for the soul. Pouring color over color allows the transparent qualities of the paint to mix and mingle resulting in a wonderful luminous effect that you simply cannot get with a brush.” This process is also the basis for my collage painting. Antique book pages circa 1800's, handmade & hand painted papers, fibers and inks play hide & seek between all the layers.

I prefer to work in watercolor because I love the spontaneous quality and many special effects which can be utilized. I usually work in transparent watercolor, although I do work with collage and mixed media occasionally. My work is basically realistic, but I mix abstract patterns into my paintings, so my work is a combination of both realistic and abstract shapes and patterns. I enjoy doing portraits and studies of people, and also still lifes and landscapes. I am very interested in creating dramatic light and dark values through the use (more)
